Hi,
I’m Emma and I live in Edinburgh.
I studied languages and marketing at University many moons ago and I have worked in tourism boards, followed by 16 years in-house PR in luxury, five-star hotels. I have also set up a private dental referral business with my husband and we have three children.
However, I’ve always loved shopping and fashion and knew that one day I’d like to do something around retail and fashion. When I reached 45, I decided to go back to studying so I started an HND in Retail Management which I have just finished. As my interest is fashion retail, I have complemented this qualification with working in Whistles Edinburgh part-time, and I love this job, particularly the customer interaction side. There’s nothing more rewarding than helping a customer who comes into the store lacking in confidence and direction, and who leaves with a bag full of clothing that makes them feel excited and joyful! I am keen to expand my knowledge and learn lots of theory and insightful tips to add value to the customers’ experience of shopping in my store. I would also like to extend this to offer personal styling, in addition to working at Whistles.
I am really excited about this course as the modules all cover exactly what I wish to learn. I look forward to getting to know you over this course!
